Founded by Artistic Director, Dr. John McDonald, Continuum Vocal Ensemble launched in 2023 with a mission to provide inspiring and transformative experiences for a new and energetic audience through unique repertoire performed in unconventional spaces. This ensemble brings together the best ensemble vocalists from the St. Louis region with the goal of musical excellence and building a community through the art of choral music.

Mission:

To create transformative choral experiences that welcome all of St. Louis through innovative programs, immersive music, and performances in unexpected spaces.

Vision:

  • Community Access & Engagement
We break down barriers to classical music by performing in unconventional spaces, incorporating interactive concert elements, and creating experiences that are welcoming, inclusive, and accessible to all.
  • Community Giving
Through our annual Cause Concert, we harness the power of music to uplift and give back to the St. Louis community, partnering with local organizations and amplifying social impact through song.
  • Choral Innovation & Enrichment
We invest in the future of choral music by commissioning new works, showcasing underrepresented voices, and redefining what a choral ensemble can be — artistically, structurally, and experientially.
  • Community of Artists
We honor the craft and commitment of our singers by providing professional compensation, fostering a safe, collaborative environment, and championing artistic excellence at every level.
